BOSTON – Suffolk softball has two twinbills with city foes this weekend in Simmons and Emerson in that order. The Rams will face the Sharks Saturday, March 22 before taking on the Lions Sunday, March 23. Both double features have a 12:00 p.m. first pitch.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk softball stumbled in it's the Spring Games finale to Earlham, 12-0, in five innings Thursday afternoon at the DiamondPlex.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk went 4-8 at The Spring Games and looks to snap a five-game skid Saturday.  

Catherine Carignan has been the most consistent hitter with 16 hits including two doubles behind a .471 connection rate at the plate. She has scored a team-high eight times and swiped seven bases. Julia Mills and Lily Newhall have provided 10 hits apiece. Mills has brought in six runs and scored five herself, while Newhall's stat line is reversed in those categories.  

Newhall and Cythina Rucinski are the usual starting pitchers for the Rams. Newhall holdsa. 4.41 ERA in 33.1 innings pitching with 14 strikeouts. Rucinski, meanwhile, brings in a 3.79 ERA in 20.1 innings and 15 punchouts. 

SHARKS SAYINGS
Simmons is 5-9 on the year. The Sharks went 5-5 at The Spring Games, but has been swept in double features against MIT and Rhode Island since returning to New England.  

Zoe Soule holds a team-best RBI behind 10 hits with six runs scored to her credit. Raya Anderson has scored a team-best 11 times and has brought in two runs of her own on 12 hits and 10 walks. Teagan Buckley has produced a squad-best 16 hits with five RBI and five runs scored on her stat line. 

Ally Hyde (3.16 ERA, 31.0 IP, 19 K), Piper Kinney (4.59 ERA, 39.2 IP, 22 K) and Trinity Payne (5.64 ERA, 22.1 IP, 11 K) have all seen time in the circle.  

WE MEET AGAIN
Simmons softball broke up a 2-all tie with a three-run sixth inning to hand Suffolk softball a 5-2 setback Friday afternoon at the DiamondPlex as part of The Spring Games March 7, 2025.

The Lions have used four different twirlers this season in Kate Regan (2.17 ERA, 19.1 IP, 9 K), Caleigh Sheehan (3.16 ERA, 24.1 IP, 29 K), Gomez (5.13 ERA, 1.50 IP, 7 K) and Sofia Holden (6.00 ERA, 3.1 IP, 1 K).
