BEVERLY, Mass. – The sixth seeded Suffolk softball team was eliminated from the 2024 Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament by fifth seed Roger Williams Thursday morning as Raegan Germano twirled a two-hit gem to blank the Rams, 7-0, at the Softball Park on the campus of Endicott College.
THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 0 | Roger Williams 7
RECORDS: Suffolk (19-24) | Roger Williams (20-16)
HOW IT HAPPENED
A huge, five-run second stanza gave Roger Williams the upper hand early on.
The Hawks added to their advantage in the fourth and Suffolk found itself chasing seven.
Suffolk's offense had a change to sneak on the board in the top of the seventh as the Rams filled the bags on a walk, single and a Hawks fielding mishap. Germano got out of the jam and kept a zero on Suffolk's side of the board as Diana Rucinski popped up to short for the final out of the blue-and-gold's season.
