BOSTON – The Suffolk softball team returns to the diamond on Patriots Day, Monday, April 17, for a GNAC doubleheader at Rivier. Game one is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk softball team notched nine doubles over the course of two games at Rivier to sweep the Raiders Monday night at Raiders Field. Suffolk claimed the opener 7-2 and took the closer 10-0.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk sits in the middle pack of the GNAC standings with a 14-12 overall record and 6-4 league ledger. 

Ashley Zulla is the lone everyday starting hitting over .400 with the freshman coming with a line of .443/.467/.647. The outfielder has 31 hits for 10 RBI and 19 runs scored to go with five stolen bases. Jill Pulek boasts a .433 average, leading the way on the team with 27 RBI on 35 hits and has come home 17 times. Delaney Sylvester (.358/.404/.531, 29 H 18 RBI, 12 R), Devlin Frost (.348/.378/.489, 32 H, 17 RBI, 28 R) and Jaclyn Frost (.329/.396/.511, 15 H, 9 RBI, 15 R) all average over .300 for the blue-and-gold. 

Ali Yamakaitis leads the way inside the circle for the Rams. The junior twirler's ERA comes in 2.06 through 85.0 innings pitched with 55 strikeouts. Taylor Holmes is the other go-to starting arm for Suffolk with the junior hurler bringing a 4.29 ERA into Wednesday with 63.2 innings of action and 47 Ks.  

BIT BOUT THE BLUE JAYS
St. Joseph currently sits in fourth place in the GNAC standings with a 14-8 overall mark and 7-3 record against conference competition. 

Three everyday starters average well over .400 at the dish for the Blue Jays. McKenna Driscoll is the squad leader in average hitting .468 and slugging .681. The freshman has 22 hits, 13 RBI and 10 runs on her stat line. Amaria Sharon (.457/.480.600, 32 H, 22 RBI, 19 R) and Morgan Skoly (.423/.482/.481, 22 H, 4 RBI, 15 R) round out the top hitters for USJ 

Sharon is also the top arm for the Blue Jays with the rookie throwing nearly 100 innings. She brings a 2.20 ERA into Wednesday with 66 strikeouts in 19 appearances and 14 starters.
