Tri-Captains to Lead 2024 Men’s Cross Country

BOSTON – For the first time since 2021, Suffolk men's cross country will see three Rams share the captain role as Tim BarryJacob Dubin and Thomas Novy have been named captain by head coach Will Feldman

They are first threesome to share the role since the trio of Matyas Csiki-FejerNic Malm and Hunter Toyoda held the title from 2019-21.

Barry returns to his post for the third consecutive campaign, making him the longest running captain since the trio of Csiki-Fejer, Malm and Toyoda, while Dubin and Novy begin their first terms in the leadership position.

"Tim (Barry) will continue to lead our men both on, and off the track," Feldman said. "This year he is joined by Thomas (Novy) and Jacob (Dubin) both of whom have grown as runners and leaders by leaps and bounds over the last two seasons. Thomas and Jacob are excellent examples of what can be accomplished with hard work and determination. There's a wealth of knowledge that our under classmen can soak up from them both."

Barry cemented himself in the Rams record book a year ago as the Westborough, Massachusetts product became the second-ever member of Suffolk men's cross country and third-ever student-athlete in University history to compete at NCAA Championships. Along the way he collected all-region and all-conference honors alongside Novy, who hails from Simsbury, Connecticut. Dubin a grad student from Sharon, Massachusetts, meanwhile, was a consistent contributor to the blue-and-gold's team score that featured the third-straight runner-up finish at the conference championship and the program-best team performance at regionals.

To get 2024 underway, the Rams will travel to Attelboro, Massachusetts, Saturday, Aug. 31 for the 10th Annual Wheaton & Babson Season Opener.
