Csiki-Fejer Tabbed CCC Runner of the Week

CCC RELEASE 

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Matyas Csiki-Fejer of the Suffolk men's cross country team was named CCC Runner of the Week after his runner-up performance at the 40th Mike Woods Invitational, the league announced Monday.  

Csiki-Fejer made his name known at the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo, New York where multiple national teams competed. The Manchester, Missouri, product clocked a personal-best 8k time of 24:15.4 to finish second in the field of 404 runners. His time was just three seconds shy of individual champion Ezra Ruggles of Geneseo. He aided to Suffolk's team 21st-place performance in a race that featured No. 4 Geneseo, No. 17 Otterbein and No. 27 Middlebury, as well as numerous regionally ranked programs. 

With the weekly recognition this week, Csiki-Fejer has now been tabbed the conference's best runner for every week he has been active in 2021. With his third distinction, the Rams now have four weekly nods from the CCC this season as Tim Barry garnered rookie of the week status Sept. 20.  

Csiki-Fejer and the Rams will take this weekend off to prep for the 2021 Suffolk Invite, which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16 at Franklin Park. The Rams will also race Emerson in the Battle of Boston Common, a head-to-head match between the Beantown neighbors.
