Csiki-Fejer Named CCC Runner of the Week

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Matyas Csiki-Fejer of the Suffolk men's cross country team has added more hardware to his already full shelf as the senior captain was tabbed Commonwealth Coast Conference Runner of the Week for his efforts at the Short Course Classic, the league office unveiled.

Last Sunday, Csiki-Fejer took the cross country course for the first time in two years and did not disappoint. The Manchester, Missouri native cruised to a 15:41 5K time at Franklin Park to finish second in the 102-runner field. He was on the heels of Brown's Evan Sherman, who won the meet.

As the top Division III finisher, Csiki-Fejer anchored the Rams to a third-place team finish behind the Bears and Harvard.

Csiki-Fejer is the first Suffolk runner to garner the conference weekly award since the University switched to the league in 2020-21. Overall, the weekly recognition is the ninth of his career with five runner and three rookie of the week accolades from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) as a freshman and sophomore, respectively.

The Rams will have this weekend off and are set to return to competition Saturday, Sept. 18 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
