PRs Fall for Men’s Outdoor Track & Field at Sean Collier Invite

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Five Rams rewrote personal-best and one program-record was adjusted for Suffolk men's outdoor track & field at MIT's Sean Collier Invite at the Henry G. Stein Brenner Track over the weekend. 

RAMS RECORDS

  • Michael Makiej reset the program-record in the high jump as he cleared 1.93. 
  • The trio of Nathan FernandesJoshua Durand and Ioan Pereira all produced personal-best in the 200. 
  • Sean Jacobsen and Michael Najarian wrote personal-best in the 1500. 

RAMS RUNNERS

  • Durand (11.69), Pereira (11.74), Brendan Eddy (12.04) and Corman O'Brien (12.47) all sprinted the 100. 
  • Fernandes (22.85), Durand (23.48), Pereira (23.51), Eddy (24.96) and O'Brien (26.24) made a half lap around the track in the 200. 
  • Matthew McGoldrick ran once around the track in the 400 and finished in 58.85. 
  • Tim Barry (1:57.47) and Kely Maloney (2:03.13) both ran the 800. 
  • Hayden Green (4:09.38), Maloney (4:09.57), Jacobsen (4:10.63), Sebastian Vickers-Richard (4:22.26), Connor Haywardd (4:24.54), Declan Shannon (4:25.58) and Najarian (4:47.80) competed in the 1500. Green (14th), Maloney (15th), Jacobsen (16th) and Vickers-Richard (4:22.26) all finished within the top-20. 
  • Baryr produced a 4:19.17 mile, good for 23rd. 

HAVE TO KNOW 'BOUT THE HURDLERS

  • Tighe Hosman hurdled to 12th in the 110 with a time of 16.06. 
  • Hosman finished sixth in the 400 hurdles with a 58.47. 

JUMPERS JIST

  • Makiej's school-best 1.93 high jump was good for fourth. 
  • Joshua Catino took 12th in the pole vault with a 3.52-meter effort.
  • Michael Frodelius finished 14th in the long jump with a 5.51-meter leap. Cinton Oreofe was three spots behind him with a 5.11. 
  • Frodelius placed sixth in the sixth jump thanks to a 11.37.  

THROWERS THOUGHTS

  • Connor Brown threw the shot put 9.29 meters. 
  • Elijah Brown placed sixth in the hammer thanks toa. 41.90-meter throw. Connor Brown (25.71) also competed in the hammer.
  • Edward Abouzeid heaved the javelin 47.08 meters to claim ninth.

Suffolk aims to claim the 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) Championship this weekend, April 25-26 at the Brigham Athletic Center on the campus of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.
