WESTON, Mass. – Suffolk men's outdoor track & field turned in a third-place performance at the Regis Spring Classic Monday.
The Rams combined for 57 points to finish behind Worcester State (146) and the host Regis (185).
Joshua Durand shined for Suffolk as the junior won the 200 and 400 behind personal records in both events.
In the 200, the Rochester, New Hampshire product sprinted to a 23.78 to pace the 18-runner field. Turner Mitchell took second on the podium with a 23.79, while Ioan Pereira and Andrew Tansil claimed fifth and ninth, respectively. Pereira clocked a 24.31 and Tansil finished in 24.87.
In the 400, Durand compiled a 53.29 to place first in the 10-runner event. Pereira claimed third with a 54.78 and Tansil took fourth with a career-high 55.20 showing.
Mitchell recorded a fourth-place performance in the 100 with a time of 11.65.
Michael Najarian produced a personal-record of 4:57.15 in the 1500, good for sixth.
Owen Campbell cleared 3.79-meters in the pole vault to secure second in the seven-jumper field. Joshua Catino finished fourth with a 3.19-meter showing.
Suffolk has two additional events on the schedule this week, the Silfen Invitational, and the Penmen Relays.
