Indoor Track & Field Starts Season at Suffolk Relays

BOSTON – For the first time in program history, Suffolk men's and women's indoor track & field will play host to an indoor meet as the Rams lift the lid on their 2022-23 season at the Suffolk Relays at the Reggie Lewis Center Saturday, Dec. 3.

THE FIELD
Fifteen different teams will converge on the Reggie Lewis Center Saturday morning. The Rams will be joined by familiar foes Emmanuel, Endicott, Regis, and Roger Williams with Bard, Brandeis, Merrimack, New Haven, Sacred Heart, Saint Rose, Stonehill, UMass Boston, UMass Lowell and Worcester State scheduled to make an appearance.

"Saturday will be an excellent opportunity for sprinter, and field athletes to kick-off the season against strong competition," Will Feldman said. 

SUFFOLK STANDOUTS

  • Several freshmen are making their debuts Saturday who have the opportunity to establish themselves as key contributors. 
  • Freshmen to watch out for are Alia Nigri (hurdles), Molly Hennegan (pole vault) and Kara Sickle (pole vault), Sarah Forrister (long jump) and Olivia Walke (200). 
  • Captains Amanda WaldenLauren Wood and Nicole DiBenedetto will aim to have a strong start and potentially qualify for regionals. 
  • Freshman Josh Catino has the potential to be a standout for the men in multiple events. He will be competing in the hurdles and pole vault with a goal to break the Rams record in the latter Saturday. 
  • Carter Nevulis aims to better his program record in the 60m hurdles. 
  • Gavin Reid will be someone to watch out for in the long jump. 
  • Cole Bolduc has potential to put together the best performance on the weekend as the senior is ready to race the 400.

Suffolk is set to compete at the Track at New Balance for the first-time next Saturday, Dec. 10 at the UMass Invite.
