Indoor Track & Field Heads to MIT’s Art Farnham Invitational Saturday

 


BOSTON – Suffolk indoor track & field will compete at MIT's Art Farnham Invitational Saturday, Jan. 25. The event is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT [ MEN ] 
Suffolk men's indoor track & field opened their second semester schedule with a seventh-place performance at the Tufts Invitational Saturday at the Gantcher Center.

LAST TIME OUT [ WOMEN ] 
Mariama Kamara and Emma Weisse each secured their spots at New Englands to highlight Suffolk women's indoor track & field performances at the Tufts Invitational Saturday at the Gantcher Center.

THE FIELD
Seven other schools will be joining the Rams in Cambridge. In addition to Suffolk and the hosts MIT, the blue-and-gold will compete against GNAC foe Lasell as well as Southern Connecticut State, Wesleyan, Brandis and Fitchburg State. 

RAMS RUNNERS
Suffolk is sending a baker's dozen Rams over the bridge.  

Keoni GeersHunter Toyoda, and Justin Turner will all run the 800 to represent Suffolk's male runners. Frank IrizarryMichael PowerMatthew Sambuceti and Michael Balestra will compete in the field events.  

On the women's side, Julia Hunt (long jump), and Nicole DiBenedetto (high jump & triple jump) will participate in the jumping events. Allison RodriguesMichelle Riley and Savannah Hunter are to take part in the field events with Cassandra Kuechler as the lone runner in the 60-meter hurdles.  

QUALIFYING QUEST
Allison Rodrigues is looking to qualify in the weight throw while Nicole DiBenedetto goes for her spot at New Englands in the high jump.  

RAMS RECOGNITION
Mariama Kamara of the Suffolk women's indoor track & field team was tabbed GNAC Athlete of the Week after her New England Regional qualifying performance at the Tufts Invitational over the weekend.
