
BOSTON – Suffolk men's tennis has back-to-back matches in store this weekend as the Rams will host Emerson Friday, March 21 at Lexington Tennis Club in Lexington, Massachusetts, at 7:30 p.m., before traveling to Western New England Saturday, March 22 for a 12:00 p.m. Conference of New England (CNE) clash.

Suffolk men's tennis dropped a Beantown battle with UMass Boston, 5-2, Friday afternoon at the BC High School Tennis Courts.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is 0-2 on the year and 0-1 in CNE contests as it has fallen to Colby Sawyer (7-0) and UMass Boston (5-2).
Mehdi Mered and Abhi Patel have both taken the top singles court for the Rams this spring; neither has found the win column in singles play. Henry Blanchard and Sein Kim are both 1-1 in singles action. Blanchard has played both matches in the fifth singles spot, while Kim has seen time at No. 3 (1-0) and No. 4 (0-1).
There has not been a doubles tandam that has been victorious through the first two matches. Patel has played the top doubles team in both matches this year. He has partnered with Mered and Blanchard.
LIONS LOOK
Emerson is 4-8 on the season that started back in September. The Lions are coming off a four-match trip to Orlando, Florida in which it went 2-2.
Filippo Nocchi has played all 12 matches as the Lions' ace. He sports a team-best 9-3 singles record. Connor Leung has also been successful in singles play with a 7-5 ledger, exclusively in the second spot.
That duo, Nocchi and Leung, have partnered as the No. 1 doubles team and has compiled a 7-5 mark.
INSIDE THE SERIES
- Suffolk and Emerson will meet for the first time since March 22, 2019. That outing was a 7-2 setback for Suffolk.
- Since 2009, Suffolk and Emerson have met 15 times.
- The Rams lead the series 11-4.

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England is 1-2 on the year after a three-match trip to Hilton Head, South Caroline. WNE's victory came via a 4-3 decision over Penn State Harrisburg.
Nick Bayer (0-2) and Kyle Poccia (0-1) have played on the first singles court for the Golden Bears. Quinn Northrop is unbeaten in singles action with a 2-0 record all in the second slot.
The duo of Norhtrop and Nolan Jermain boast an unbeaten 2-0 doubles record as the second team. The pairs of Poccia and Thomas Roche (0-1) and Colby Esposito and Bayer (0-2) have combined forces as the No. 1 doubles team.
