Suffolk men's tennis was shutout in its 2025 season debut by one of the newest members of the Conference of New England (CNE), Colby Sawyer Sunday afternoon at the Mountainside Racquet & and Fitness Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is 0-1 on the year after being shutout by Colby Sawyer, 7-0, in its season opener March 9.  

Mehdi Mered played as the Rams' ace and made up the top tandem alongside Abhi Patel.  

BEACONS BREAKDOWN
UMass Boston started its season in the fall with a pair of setbacks to Emerson (6-1) and Springfield (7-0). The Beacons match with Suffolk will be their spring opener.  

Dominik Dwyer has played both matches as UMB's ace. He is 0-2. Dwyer has combined forces with Maxwell Dill to form the top tandem. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and UMass Boston renew a rivalry, meeting for the first time since 2019. 
  • Since 2009, the Rams are 4-5 in the all-time meetings with the Beacons. 
  • Suffolk lost its last two battles with UMB including the last meeting, March 28, 2019, 8-1
