HOW IT HAPPENED
Nathan Harlow's first save of the night was crucial and highlight reel worthy. After Dan Colbert was whistled for a foul in the box and was issue a yellow card Sam Cochran set up for a penalty kick for the Gulls. Cochran set-up as if he would boot the ball right, but when left and Harlow guessed right. The sophomore's diving save was just in time to keep things scoreless with just under 13 minutes left before the intermission.
Colbert attempted to make up for his foul in the box about three minutes later. The graduate student one-touched a volley towards the right corner of the net. This time it was Brady O'Toole that had to dive to keep the Rams off the board and the Gulls keeper finger tips made it just in time to hold things scoreless.
Like the first frame, action picked up in the final 15 minutes of the second. Ricardo Feliciani went to the clear the ball out of the Rams zone, but instead Fisher Mills stole it at the 20-yard line and zoomed ahead for a one-on-one with Harlow. Endicott's midfielder drew Harlow to the left hand side and shot low towards the opposite side to give the Gulls the upper hand with 12:44 remaining in regulation.
Suffolk picked up the tempo over the final 10 minutes, but it was the Gulls that had the next best chance on target. Mills once again tested Harlow. This time the blue-and-gold netminder made a two-handed, leap save to keep the one-goal distance in stance with just over three minutes left on the board.
The Rams final attempt came from Luke Blawn. The sophomore's shot came as one minute call was announced over the speakers. The shot flew just over the cross bar to seal Suffolk's first league setback of the season.
