RECORDS: Suffolk (3-3-3) | MIT (5-4-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
MIT controlled the pace of play in the first 45 minutes as the visitors outshot the host, 7-2. The Engineers could not figure out Nathan Harlow in the first frame, however, as Suffolk's sophomore stopped all five shots on target.
Ten minutes out of the locker rooms, the Rams were whistled for a foul at the 12-yard line. Shikhar Motupally took the free kick and Aidan Hallinan headed it home to push MIT on the scoreboard.
Just about 15 minutes later, the Engineers added to their advantage. In transition, Motupally dribbled up the midfield, slipped a pass through a pair of blue-and-gold defenders to Jonah Gurion for an easy score that doubled the distance.
Erik Van Even managed to push a pair of shots down with less than five minutes remaining. Both went wide and the score stood in the Engineers favor, 2-0, at the final buzzer.
