BOSTON – Suffolk men's soccer wraps up its week on the road at Curry Friday, Oct. 14. The Rams and Colonels Commonwealth Coast Conference contest is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's soccer put away two goals in each half and kept the Leopards off the scoreboard to blank Wentworth, 4-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) competition Tuesday night at Sweeney Field.

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has coupled back-to-back 4-0 victories over the University of New England and Wentworth to improve to 8-4-2 on the year and 3-1-1 in CCC competition.  

The Rams have outscored their foes 8-0 over the two games and 27-16 throughout the season. Different players have stepped up at different times, however, Carter Van Buskirk has been a staple in the scoring conversation. The freshman has team-leading numbers in in goals (4) and points (11) and has the second-most assists (3). Brady Sorensen (4g, 1a) has also found the back of the net four times, while Taj Jensen (3g, 3a) has set-up three strikes.Tommy Handelsman (1g) paces the team in handouts with four to his credit including three in the last two games. 

Xander Balog has played every minute over the blue-and-gold's 14 games in net. The sophomore brings in a 1.14 GAA and .711 save percentage with eight victories, seven of which have come in shutout fashion. 

COLONELS CATCHUP
Curry (6-3-3, 1-2-2 CCC) is unbeaten in October, however, its winless in its last two games as it has tied Nichols (1-1) and Roger Williams (2-2). 

Lucas Drons is a scoring force for the Colonels. He has registered 14 goals and three helpers for an impressive 31 points. The sophomore forward has recorded a point in at least seven of Curry's dozen games. Adam Pforr has provided a nearly evenly divided 15-point stat line of five goals and four assists to the Colonels 32-goal offense.  

Brendan Cunningham and Kyle Tremblay have split time in net. Trembly has assembled a 0.82 GAA and .879save percentage in his five starts for a 3-1-1 ledger. Cunningham, meanwhile, boasts a 1.76 GAA and .700 save percentage in his five starts for a 3-2-0 mark.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Since 2002, Suffolk is 4-1--0 versus Curry. 
  • The Rams renewed a rivalry with the Colonels last season.
