Men’s Soccer Falls at Framingham State, 3-1

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Suffolk men's soccer dropped a 3-1 decision to Framingham State Tuesday night at the Maple Street Field.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 1 | Framingham State 3
RECORDS: Suffolk (3-2-1) | Framingham State (2-2-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Framingham State grabbed a one-goal edge just over seven minutes into the action. Gabriel Padilla fired a shot high from the 25-yard line that was just out of reach of a diving Xander Balog to put the host Rams on the board. Lachlan Forgan assisted on the game-opening goal.

The distance doubled in the 26th minute. Sherak Ayamga had an opportunity on target off a corner. The first attempt was blocked and the rebound found Ayamga's boot just in time for him to kick it towards the back of the twine to force Suffolk in a two-goal hole.

Suffolk managed to slice the gap in half in the 66th minute.  A deep Boston Rams' throw in by Dai Podziewski found its way to the front of FSU's net. The ball bounced off a handful of Framingham State defenders, pulled James Hartshorn out of position and Erik Van Even capitalized when it bounced away from the group. Suffolk's sophomore tucked the rock away easily to make it a 2-1 game with just over 25 minutes remaining on the board.

The ground Suffolk made up was erased 15 minutes later when Bryce Nardizzi converted a penalty kick into a goal that restored the two-goal margin.

The blue-and-gold had less than nine minutes to play catchup. Framingham State controlled the tempo and kept the visitors without a shot to the rest of the way to seal Suffolk's setback.
