Podziewski, Murdock to Co-Captain Men’s Soccer in 2022

BOSTON – Dai Podziewski and Trevor Murdock are back in the leadership role for Suffolk men's soccer as the upperclassmen will co-captain the 2022 Rams, head coach Bill Maddock announced Tuesday.

Podziewski and Murdock spearheaded last season's leadership contingent that guided one of the youngest rosters in program history to an 8-9-1 overall record and a spot in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) post season in the team's first year in the league.

Murdock, back for his fifth year, four in blue-and-gold, has been a staple on the pitch since transferring to Suffolk from CCC counterpart Endicott in 2019. A native of Pembroke, Massachusetts, he has started 30 of the 33 games he has appeared in and supplied a pair of assists.

Podziewski, meanwhile, brought his talents to Boston from Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, and will play out his collegiate career this season. The defender has laced up his boots in 22 games, starting 18, and has found the back of the net once.

Suffolk's 2022 campaign is just two days away with first kick set for Thursday, Sept. 1 against Mitchell at the friendly confines of James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial at 3 p.m.
