LAST TIME OUT
With tropical Storm Jose off the New England coast, heavy winds played a role in the GNAC men's soccer contest at Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex where the Suffolk Rams fell to Johnson & Wales, 1-0, Wednesday night.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has been on a see-saw of wins and losses this season and landed on the wrong side of the pattern Wednesday to even its overall record at .500, 3-3-0, and slip to 1-2-0 against conference competition.

Christian Restrepo, who opened the season with a four-game point streak that featured 11 points on five goals and one handout, leads the team, but has been kept quiet in the past two contests. James Fisher's seven points thanks to three markers and one assist sit second on the squad, while Felipe Ucros rounds out the top three Rams with five points thanks to two goals and one assist.

Kyle Van Cleef has been the go-to goalie for the Rams in the majority of their contests. The junior keeper holds a 1.92 goals against average and a .735 save percentage for a 2-3-0 record in net. Jon Brodeur, meanwhile, is perfect in between the pipes in his 118 minutes of action this season. The sophomore has stopped all seven attempts sent his way for a perfect save percentage and record, 1-0-0.

PRIDE PROWL
Regis (4-3-0, 2-1-0 GNAC) looks to snap a two-game skid Saturday as the Pride dropped a 3-0 non-conference match versus Roger Williams, before slipping to Mount Ida, 2-1, in overtime prior to heading to Eastie this weekend.

Derek Triana is the main ingredient to the Pride's offense. The junior midfielder has found the back of the net six times through six outings to average 1.0 goal per game and lead the squad in points, 12. Litchie Barbosa is second on the team with six points, all of which came on shot setups.

Jesse Bonilla has held down the net for Regis this season, playing all but eight minutes through seven outings. The junior holds a 1.79 goals against average and a .764 save percentage, letting up 13 goals.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk leads the all-time series, which began in 2011, 4-2.
  • The Rams picked up a 4-2 win over the Pride last season.
  • Two meetings in the series needed extra time to decide a winner. Both contests went into double overtime. The Rams came out on top, 2-1, in 2014, while the Pride took the double OT tilt by an identical score in the first-ever meeting in 2011.
  • There has been one shutout in the series, a 4-0 Regis win in 2015.
