
WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – Suffolk men's hockey was kept off the scoreboard in the Tampa College Hockey Invitational Championship contest by the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) as the Raiders shutout the Rams, 3-0, Saturday night at the AdventHealth Center Ice.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Less than seven minutes into the middle period MSOE got on the scoreboard. The Raiders won a face-off in the Rams zone and quickly worked the puck around for Brennan Dickey to get a shot off from the blue line that zoomed wide right where Charlie Skinner picked up the pieces. He quickly, and easily, tucked the rebound away to give the Raiders the one-goal edge at the 6:48 mark.
With 25 seconds left before the second intermission, MSOE doubled the distance when Cole Beilke found the back of the net on a feed from Skinner to send the Rams into the locker room down 2-0.
Suffolk continued to attempt to figure out the Raiders' netminder Austin Schwab, but continuously came up short.
The Rams pulled Hapward from his station between the pipes with 2:04 remaining. The extra skater ended up helping MSOE instead as Ethan Mann put away an empty netter to with 49 seconds left on the clock for the 3-0 final.
NETMINDER NOTES
- Hapward registered 24 saves in the setback.
- Schwab put together a 24 save effort as well.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- MSOE held a slim edge in shots, 27-24.
- The Raiders commanded the face-off dot, 50-25.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk and MSOE met for the first time.
