Men’s Hockey Shutouts Wentworth, 2-0

EVERETT, Mass. – Suffolk men's hockey avenged its overtime setback yesterday with a 2-0 cleansheet over Wentworth Saturday afternoon at Allied Veterans Memorial Rink to split the Conference of New England home-and-home series with the Leopards.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 2 | Wentworth 0
RECORDS: Suffolk (2-1-0, 1-1-0 CNE) | Wentworth (2-1-0, 1-1-0 CNE)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk capitalized on a Wentworth turnover early in the second stanza to get the scoring going. Scott McManus caused a turnover at the Rams blue line and went down the ice for a one-on-one with Jack McGovern. Suffolk's sophomore went high stick side on McGovern and found the back of the net 18 seconds into the middle period to make it 1-0 Rams.

The score stood still from there until the final 10 seconds of the action. McGovern was taken out from his station in net and Ralph Berry picked up the puck in Suffolk's zone and flicked it towards the Leopards cage from the center ice face-off circle and put away the empty netter with six seconds left in regulation for the 2-0 final.
