Wentworth Ends Men’s Basketball’s Season in CCC Quarterfinals, 72-60

BOSTON – Fourth seed Wentworth proved to be too much for the fourth-seeded Suffolk men's basketball team as the Leopards leapt past the Rams, 72-60, in the CCC Quarterfinals Tuesday night inside Tansey Gymnasium.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 60 | Wentworth 72
RECORDS: Suffolk (16-10) | Wentworth (17-9)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Wentworth put Suffolk in a six-point hole to get the game going and Suffolk would chase that same score deficit at half time, 38-32.

The Rams jumped out of the locker room looking to pull back into the thick of things and cut the margin to five, 42-37, at the 17:21 mark.

WIT went on an 8-2 run over the next two minutes to restore a double-digit distance, 50-39. The Leopards managed to maintain the double figure cushion and stretch it to as many as 15, 67-52, with 6:05 remaining in regulation.

Suffolk looked to make one final push to comeback and got the gap down to three possessions, 69-60, with just under two minutes to go after Conor Creane and Cole LeVangie hit back-to-back triples.

The Rams shots were off the mark the rest of the way and the Leopards managed to lock things up from the line.
