BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball makes the short trip across town Tuesday, Feb. 21 to begin the 2023 CCC Tournament as the fifth-seeded Rams are set to take on the fourth seed Wentworth in the quarterfinals at 7:00 p.m.

RAMS IN THE POSTSEASON

  • Suffolk will make its second straight appearance in the CCC postseason Tuesday night. 
  • The Rams second CCC tournament trip marks the 18th overall and 10th straight conference postseason run for the blue-and-gold. 
  • The blue-and-gold will play in the 4 vs. 5 game for the second straight season, third time overall, and second as the fifth seed. 
  • Suffolk looks to advance to the league's tournament semifinal for the second straight year, sixth time overall. 
  • The Rams have yet to win a postseason game as the fifth seed (0-1). 
  • The last time Suffolk played in the postseason as the fifth seed was in 2000. 
  • The Rams have competed in a conference title game just once when it grabbed GNAC glory in 2002. 
  • Under Jeff Juron's guidance, Suffolk sits 2-6 in the postseason.

LAST TIME OUT
Head coach Jeff Juron picked up his 100th career victory as Suffolk men's basketball put together a team effort Saturday afternoon to wrap up its 2022-23 regular-season with a victory as the Rams took down the University of New England 70-61 at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk heads into Tuesday 16-9 on the year and ride the momentum of its 70-61 triumph over the University of New England into the playoffs.  

The quartet of Keenan Robertson (19.0 ppg), Aidan Sullivan (11.9 ppg), William Rowe (11.7 ppg) and Cole LeVangie (11.0 ppg) continue to power the Rams' 74.0 ppg offense. 

That group is also the leaders on the glass paced by 6.9 rpg from Robrertson with Rowe and LeVangie providing 6.4 rpg and 6.0 rpg, respectively. 

LEOPARDS LOOK
Wentworth wrapped up its regular-season on a three-game win streak to sit 16-9 overall.  

The trio of Jack Connell (17.2 ppg), Tyler Stewart (14.8 ppg) and Jack Schaake (10.0 ppg) each pour in double figures to anchor the Leopards'       74.3 points per game offensive output. 

Defensively, Stewart's 8.5 rpg tops the team with Schaake's 7.4 rpg in a close second. 

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk and Wentworth split the regular-season meetings. The Rams defeated the Leopards on the road, 65-58, Jan. 3, before WIT best the blue-and-gold, 84-68, at Smith Court Jan. 28.
