MILTON, Mass. – All 13 Rams contributed multiple points to help Suffolk men's basketball to a 93-61 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory over Curry Wednesday night at Katz Gymnasium.
THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 93 | Curry 61
RECORDS: Suffolk (10-2, 5-1 CCC) | Curry (2-13, 1-6 CCC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 5-4, Keenan Robertson sparked a 15-5 Rams run with a jumper just over two minutes into the action that quickly made things lopsided, 19-10.
The Colonels stayed within a handful of possession with 8:39 to go, 23-18. Once again Robertson ignited a two-minute rally. The freshman's layup was the first of four unanswered hoops that extended the gap to 15, 33-18.
It was back-and-forth action from there that saw Suffolk lead by 20, 51-31, at the half.
Curry attempted a comeback early on in the second stanza as it put away the first two hoops. Slowly Suffolk gained its composure and 5:05 into the second half the Rams led by 30, 66-36, after scoring 14 consecutive points. That stretch featured back-to-back buckets from John Gates from downtown and a trey from Nate Hale.
Game management and smart decisions the rest of the way allowed the Rams to cruise to its well-balanced 93-61 victory.
