BOSTON – Suffolk men's basketball heads down to New Haven, Connecticut tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 25 as it begins the 2020 GNAC Tournament. The quarterfinals contest between the seventh-seeded Rams and second-seeded Falcons is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off.

RAMS IN THE GNAC TOURNEY

  • Suffolk makes its eighth straight and 16th overall trip to the GNAC Tournament.
  • The Rams will vie for GNAC glory as the seventh seed for the first time since 2015-16, seventh time overall and third in the Jeff Juron era.
  • The blue-and-gold looks to advance to the semifinals for the fifth time, first since 2018-19.

LAST TIME OUT
Five different players produced double figures in scoring as Suffolk men's basketball handled Regis, 84-58, Saturday afternoon in the Rams regular-season finale at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk concluded the regular-season with a 14-11 overall record and 6-5 GNAC mark.

The Rams 77.9 ppg offense has been powered by the trio of Nate Hale (12.0 ppg), Thomas Duffy (10.6 ppg) and Max Bonney-Liles (10.2 ppg). The threesome of William Rowe (8.4 ppg), Alex Jacovides (8.3 ppg) and Brendan Mulson (8.3 ppg) have been consistent contributors on the scoring side of the ball as well.

Defensively, Brendan Mulson carries the bulk of the load of the boards with 5.4 rpg. Rowe registers 4.5 rpg and Jarret Byrne aids the team's 34.8 rpg with 4.1 rpg of his own.

FALCONS FACTS
Albertus Magnus, who is receiving votes in the latest D3Hoops.com Coaches' Poll, wrapped up the regular-season on a six-game win streak, scoring 97-plus points in each of those outings, to head into Tuesday's tilt 20-4 overall. 

Four players produce double figures in scoring to anchor the Falcons' 91.4 ppg. Jahmerikah Green-Younger's 15.7 ppg tops the team's offensive output with Tyreek Perkins and Terry Dawkins providing 13.9 ppg and 12.1 ppg, respectively. Davon Warner rounds out the foursome with 10.5 ppg.

Dawkins' 6.8 rpg paces the pack on the glass. Andrew Rice supplies 6.5 rpg to the squad's 44.5 rpg unit with Marquan Watson chipping in 5.5 rpg.

SUFFOLK VS. ALBERTUS MAGNUS IN THE GNAC TOURNEY

  • Suffolk and Albertus Magnus will tip-off in the GNAC post-season for the second time, first since 2015.
  • The Rams trail the post-season series with the Falcons, 1-0, after Albertus Magnus downed Suffolk 108-82 in the GNAC Quarterfinals.
  • The foes will battle as the second and seventh seeds for the first time.

Every player contributed, with a trio of student athletes providing a double digits to help Suffolk men's basketball defeat then-No. 19 Albertus Magnus for the first time in seven years. The Rams bested the nationally ranked Falcons, 81-68, Feb. 1 at Tufts' Cousens Gym.
