HOW IT HAPPENED

Two innings later, Sean Jamieson slugged a two-run shot to right to double the distance, 4-0.

WNE lengthened its lead to five in the top of the fourth behind a one-run single up the middle by Ryan Montini.

Suffolk started to score in the bottom of the fifth when Harry Painter's double down the left field line plated Jonny Gilbride, who reached on a fielder's choice.

The ground the Rams made up was quickly erased and then some as the Golden Bears put up four runs in the sixth to take a lopsided advantage 9-1.
