BOSTON – The third-seeded Suffolk baseball team is set to face sixth seed Wentworth in an elimination contest of the 2024 Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament Thursday afternoon at Paolino Field on the campus of Roger Williams.

Suffolk baseball's offense was limited to one run, while second seed Roger Williams took the lead in the second inning and never let it go to hand the third-seeded Rams a 3-1 setback in the CCC Tournament Thursday morning at Paolino Field.

LEOPARDS LOOK
Wentworth fell in four straight games, including a 12-3 setback to Suffolk in the first round of the CCC Tournament, to hold a 22-17 overall mark.
A.T. DiPina is the offensive force for the Leopards with 52 hits, 26 RBI and 31 runs scored. Matthe Favazzo has added 48 hits, 28 RBI and 29 runs scored. Both DiPina and Favazzo have stolen 13 bases apiece. Christian Peruzzi rounds out the top trio of threats at the plate with 43 hits, 32 RBI and 30 runs scored.
Nigel Cross is likely to earn the nod. In 42.2 innings pitch he has assembled a 4.43 ERA with 33 puchouts.
WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk swept the regular season twinbill with Wentworth April 20. The Rams handled the Leopards in game one, 12-2, in seven innings and took game two, 7-3.
Two days ago, the blue-and-gold bested the WIT, 12-3, in round one of the CCC Tournament.
