The Suffolk baseball team dropped a non-conference Boston battle to UMass Boston, 14-4, Thursday afternoon at Monan Park.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk continues on its conference competition break and heads into the week 21-12-1 overall after splitting a pair of non-league outings last week.
Tim Brigham has proven to be the most potent at the plate for Suffolk. The junior has put together a slash line of .403/.436/.645 with 50 hits, 37 RBI and 20 runs scored. Sophomores Will Hopkins and Blase Cormier add sparks at the plate. The former is hitting .381 with 43 hits, 22 RBI, 33 runs scored and 18 stolen bases, while the latter has supplied 42 hits, 27 RBI and 28 runs scored.
With six games on Suffolk's calendar this week, Anthony Del Prete will likely use his mid-week arms of Tyler Zell (24.1 IP, 14K), George Breslin (14.1 IP, 8 K) or Parker Browne (2.22 ERA, 24.1 IP, 19 K) in Tuesday's tilt.
JUMBOS
Tufts was rained out this weekend and heads into the matchup 20-5 on the season.
Elais Varinos and Peter DeMaria are the biggest bats for the Jumbos. Varinos, a junior shortstop, has recorded 35 hits off a .398 average with 23 runs and 20 RBI, while DeMaria, a freshman infielder who is batting .423, has provided 33 hits, 25 RBI and 24 runs scored.
R.J. Hall is Tufts' top arm. The senior boasts a 1.55 ERA with 20 Ks through 29.0 innings over five starts. Aidan Tucker has seen the most action, 38.0 innings, over 11 appearances in which he put together an ERA of 3.32 with 30 strikeouts.
