Playing on the Suffolk women's soccer team has been an extraordinary journey filled with growth, challenges, and unforgettable experiences. As I reflect on this chapter of my life, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunities it has presented and the impact it has made in my life.
To My Coaches:
I can’t say thank you enough for everything you’ve done. Coach Ellie, you came into our program my sophomore year and completely changed my outlook on soccer. You encouraged me to push myself and those around me. You taught me life lessons like the importance of “having tough conversations early.” Your leadership and charisma shaped me to become a better person, on and off the field. Coach Doug, thank you for coming in this year. You always knew the right things to say, and your positive outlook beams onto our team. Coach Steve, it’s been an honor experiencing these past four years with you. Every game you hyped me up before going out on the field, thank you for your devotion to the program.
To My Family:
Thank you for helping me get to where I am today. You were the ones who signed me up for youth soccer in first grade and then supported me throughout my high school, club, and college career. Playing on SUWSOC (Suffolk University Women's Soccer) would not have been the same without looking up from the field and seeing you guys in the stands cheering me on. Thank you for your never-ending commitment to making me who I am today.
To My Team:
I am blessed to have been a part of this team for four years. You guys are what makes this experience so special. The people on this team make up the memories and lifelong friendships created. Thank you everyone for taking a chance on me in the spring of my sophomore year, and electing me as captain. It has truly been an honor leading this team for the past couple of years. I’m so proud of what this team has grown to be, keep working hard and cherish celebrations together.
To Suffolk Athletics/AT Department:
Thank you for giving me the once-in-a-lifetime chance to be a college athlete. Sam O’Brien my athletic trainer, you are a lifesaver and I can’t stress how grateful I am for your help. I know that I’ve probably given you some of the worst scares in all of Suffolk Athletics, but your constant support and help have gotten me through the toughest of times. Thank you for all you do.
I am proud of all that I have accomplished on the field, and I am grateful for the memories, friendships, and lessons that will continue to inspire and guide me in the years to come.
To the person who wears jersey #7 next, make sure to take good care of it.
