Where to even begin. I’ve only spent three years at Suffolk, but those three years have been anything, but normal.

The first year we were working out of an Athletic Training/Laundry room with one table. Second year was mid-construction on a new training room and entire new athletics facility. Third year was mid-Covid.

I think it’s safe to say RickErin, and I have been through some adversity. I wouldn’t trade away any of those year though. I have grown so much as a clinician and as a person, it’s hard to believe my time at Suffolk is coming to an end.

To the athletics staff and coaches:

In my three years here, I have had the pleasure of primarily working with the women’s volleyball team, the men’s hockey team, and the baseball team. Each one bringing their own individual accomplishments and frustrations. Each and every one of you did your best to make my job easier, and this past year has been anything, but easy. All of the restrictions and constant COVID adaptations that had to be made, yet you remained flexible and understanding, and for that I am deeply appreciative.

To the athletes:

Thank you so much for making every day enjoyable. Some days I would wake up exhausted (looking at you 7 a.m. Friday volleyball practice), but it was never a dull day in the athletic training room at Suffolk. You would all be there ready and waiting for whatever treatment I had planned that day, whether it be Graston, cupping, or just a hard day of straight rehab; you were ready for anything. There were many laughs had when no one had anything scheduled and a group of you (*cough* baseball and hockey *cough*) just decided to stop by and share stories and jokes and just bring up the energy in the room. Everyone was always grateful for anything I could do in the moment, whether it be making your current injury feel better, just listen to a vent session, or embarrass myself to get a chuckle out of you. It is these moments that I’ll always be grateful for.

To Rick and Erin:

You two have been some of the most supportive co-workers I’ve ever had.

Rick you are fantastic leader both in the training room and in life. You are always ready to step up and take control of a situation, or let things play out and let Erin and I do our jobs the best way we see fit. You have had our backs 100 percent since August 15, 2018 and I could not have asked for a better mentor these past three years.

Erin, while I have poked fun at you over the past three years, your friendship and support in the work environment made it that much more enjoyable to come to work every day. I will miss coming in and scaring you in the morning, planning out our reality TV series and the random coffee runs when we definitely didn’t need any more caffeine.

Thank you both for everything you’ve given me at Suffolk.

I’ll miss you Ram Nation!

Nick
