SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Suffolk women's cross country added a new line to its record books as the Rams raced to their fourth consecutive conference crown at the 2024 Conference of New England (CNE) Championship Saturday on the campus of Western New England.
Suffolk's fourth straight title, first under the CNE moniker, came on the heels of a team score of 37 to top the eight-team field. The Rams performance was 30 points ahead of runner-up Roger Williams.
The blue-and-gold is one of only three teams to win three or more conference championships in the league's history. Suffolk is the first team to capture four league titles in a row since the University of New England won seven straight from 2012-18.
SUFFOLK'S SCORERS
- Amalia Dorion paced the dozen Rams on the 6k course in Western Massachusetts. The graduate student compiled a program-best record at the conference championships of 22:13.06 to capture third in the 92-runner field.
- Amy Pattelena was one spot off the podium and behind her teammate with a 22:19.08.
- Sydney Fogg finished seventh with a 22:39.10.
- Sofia Moukaddem closed out the top ten with a 23:05.11.
- Emily Concepcion rounded out the scorers with a 13th-place performance on a time of 23:22.22.

ALL-CNE
- Like the team, Fogg took home her fourth consecutive all-conference accolade. She is the first and only Ram to earn four all-conference nods, one in every season of her collegiate career.
- Pattelena secured her third all-conference nod, becoming just the fourth-ever Ram to hold a trio of all-league distinctions.
- Concepcion earned all-conference for the second time in her collegiate career and in as many years.
- Dorion and Moukaddem were first time all-conference honorees as Rams. The latter raced to all-league recognition last year when competing for Endicott.
RAMS RECORDS
- Dorion put together the best-ever individual time in Suffolk women's cross country history at the CNE (formerly CCC) Championships of 22:13.06.
- All, but three Rams (Dunn, Farrell, and Bryant) put together 6k personal records.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk captured the program's fourth conference championship, all of which have come in the last four years.
- The Rams have never not won a CNE (formerly CCC) Championship.
- Suffolk ran at the CNE Championships at Western New England for the second time, first since 2021.
- The 37 teams points are the fewest for Suffolk when racing at the CNE Championships at Western New England.
- The five all-league honors tie for the second in the Rams record book for the most all-conference distinctions in a single season sitting behind 2022's six selections.
- Dorion is the third-ever Ram to finish third at the conference championship, which ties the program-record for individual place at the league championship.
- Time wise, Dorion's 22:13.06 is a program-best for a Suffolk women runner on the 6k CNE (formerly CCC) conference championship course.
- Fogg became the first-ever Suffolk female runner to earn all-league honors four times in her collegiate career.
