
HOPKINTON, N.H. – For the first time in Suffolk women's cross country history, the Rams competed at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships Friday at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.
The four Rams on the course, all freshmen, ran the 5k for the first time in their collegiate careers.
Gina Cappello paced the blue-and-gold contingent at one of the oldest cross country meets in the country. She came through the finisher's chute in 21:44.1 to claim 162nd in the 201-runner field.
Taylor Farrell finished with spot behind her classmate in 22:02.3.
Evangeline Alexander placed 190th with a 23:54.4 showing.
Katarina Ferreira was sixth places after Alexander with a 25:22.3 performance.
Suffolk is back in action next weekend, Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Connecticut College Invitational in Waterford, Connecticut.
