Women’s Cross Country Jumps Up to Sixth in East in USTFCCCA Rankings

USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – After capturing its third consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference crown, the Suffolk women's cross country team moved up to sixth in the East in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional rankings, the national organization announced.

The sixth-place regional position is a program-record for the Rams, who made their debut in the weekly regional poll in the week 7 edition of the 2021 campaign. Suffolk has been a staple in the ranks since its debut, missing just one week. For the second time in as many weeks, the blue-and-gold is joined on the list by its CCC counterpart Endicott, who moved up two spots to eighth.

The USTFCCCA Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results, when applicable, in determining a rank-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCAC began in 2010.

Suffolk has this weekend off to prep for the 2023 NCAA East Regional Championships, hosted by the Rams at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire Saturday, Nov. 11.
