Women’s Cross Country Stays Seventh in East in USTFCCCA Rankings

USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – For the third week in a row, Suffolk women's cross country has hung onto seventh in the East in the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional rankings, the national organization unveiled.

Seventh is the highest rank the Rams have ever received in program history and it has been in that spot since Sept. 26, 2023. The blue-and-gold has been featured in all, but one weekly regional poll by the USTFCCCA since emerging in the regional ranks in the week 7 edition of the 2021 season. The Rams are the only CCC member to make the regional ranks this season.

The USTFCCCA Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results, when applicable, in determining a rank-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCAC began in 2010.

The Rams have the Suffolk Invitational on this weekend's docket Saturday, Oct.14. The event will not only serve as final prep for the 2023 CCC Championships, but will also be the Battle for Boston Commons, a head-to-head match between Suffolk and its Beantown neighbor Emerson at Franklin Park.
