Davis Earns USTFCCC All-Region

USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – Ellie Davis of the Suffolk women's cross country team garnered All-East accolades from the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the national organization unveiled Monday.

Davis was one of 350 women from 145 different programs to capture an all-region distinction by virtue of a top-35 finish at one of the 10 regional sites over the weekend. Only athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions are eligible for awards.

A graduate student that calls Port Washington, New York home, Davis led the Rams runners on the 6k course in Brunswick, Maine Saturday and clocked a career-high 23:20.6 to take 29th in the 243-runner field. That performance is the best showing from a Suffolk student-athlete at the regional race since Emily Manfra placed 14th at the 2019 New England regional. Davis is the first Ram to capture an all-region nod since the new alignment of regions. She is the second-ever Suffolk female to grab an all-region honor joining Manfra on the elite list. Overall, the blue-and-gold hold three all-region awards, one of which belongs to Davis, while Manfra holds the other two.

Davis was one of three Commonwealth Coast Conference student-athletes to bring home the feat alongside Rachel Brennan of Gordon and the University' of New England's Nina Parziale, both of who raced alongside Davis in Vacation Land and finished 10th and 26th, respectively.
