BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk women's cross country earned a record number of all-league accolades over the week as six student-athlete picked up All-CCC at the 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships at Rotary State Park.
The six accolades rewrites a Rams record of five all-conference awards achieved by the 2019 squad. Five honorees – Katelynn Brunt, Ellie Davis, Skyler Goodman, Amy Pattelena and Sarah Roberts, achieved the feat for the first time in their collegiate career, while Sydney Fogg picked up her second All-CCC recognition in as many years.
The group spearheaded Suffolk to its second straight and second-ever conference crown as six of its top seven runners finished inside the top-15, which is required of an individual tp pick up All-CCC stauts. The Rams raced to a combined 33 to easily top the eight-team field on Saturday in Biddeford, Maine. The CCC title is the University's third in its history.
Brunt, a sophomore from Hopedale, Massachusetts, clocked a personal-best 6k time of 23:45.0 to finish on the podium in third in the 87-runner field. The third-place performance is the highest by a Ram at the CCC Championship, while Brunt's time is a new Suffolk women's record at CCCs.
Davis, a graduate student that calls Port Washington, New York, home, was two spots behind Brunt in fifth as she crossed the tape in 24:00.7.
Goodman's 24:21.7 was good for seventh and Pattelena, a freshman from Hollis, New Hampshire, was right on her heels with a personal-best time of 24:27.4 to finish right behind her teammate.
Roberts also recorded a career-high with a 24:38.0 to claim 10th. Junior captain Fogg, meanwhile, put together her second all-league performance in as many seasons with an 11th-place performance behind a time of 24:48.5.
Suffolk will now concentration on the 2022 NCAA Division III East Regionals that are on tap for Saturday, Nov. 12 at Bowdoin College at Brunswick, Maine.
