Women’s Cross Country Moves to 10th East in USTFCCCA Regional Rankings

USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk women's cross country dipped one spot in the latest U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association regional rankings as the Rams appear 10th in the East in the week six edition of the poll, the national organization unveiled.

The slip from ninth, which Suffolk has held for the past three weeks, comes after the Rams finished fifth at their own meet, the Suffolk Invitational, over the weekend.

The Rams are joined in the poll by Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) counterpart the University of New England for the fifth straight week. Suffolk traded places with the Nor'easters, who emerged in the poll in 10th in week 2 of the 2022 campaign.

Suffolk has been featured in six of the seven weekly regional polls by the USTFCCCA this season. Overall, the blue-and-gold has been ranked regionally six times this season and seven times overall.

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results, when applicable, in determining a rank-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.

Suffolk has a week off before it defends its conference crown at the 2022 CCC Championship Saturday, Oct. 29 in Biddeford, Maine at Rotary State Park.
