Women’s Cross Country Holds onto Ninth in USTFCCCA Regional Ranks

USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk women's cross country stayed right where it was in ninth in the East in the latest United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association regional rankings, the national organization announced.

The Rams did not budge from its position from a week ago that they earned behind its performance at the Bowdoin Invitational.

Suffolk is one of two Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) teams to appear in the week three edition of the poll, alongside the University of New England. The pair are the only CCC programs to reach a regional ranking this year. The Rams have appeared in the rankings for the fourth time this year and fifth time in program history.

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results, when applicable, in determining a rank-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.

The Rams are off until Saturday, Oct. 15 when they host the Suffolk Invitational at Franklin Park. The meet will dual as the Battle for Boston Commons, a head-to-head race with Emerson.
