BIDDEFORD, Maine – Ellie Davis of the Suffolk women's cross country team has been tabbed the Commonwealth Cost Conference Runner of the Week, the league office unveiled Monday.
Davis, a graduate student from Port Washington, New York, placed 10th in the 105-runner field at the Bowdoin Invitational Saturday. She clocked in at 23:39.8 in the 6k race, to help the Rams to a third-place finish.
Davis is the first Suffolk student-athlete to pick up a weekly award from the CCC this season. She is the first Ram to be recognized as the league's best runner over a seven-day stretch since Gwen Koziara swept the conference's weekly awards Sept. 20, 2021.
The Rams will be off from competition until Saturday, Oct. 15 when they host the Suffolk Invitational and the Battle for Boston Common at Franklin Park.
