BOSTON – Juniors Sydney Fogg and Jocelyn Triscik, have been named captains of Suffolk women's cross country for the 2022 campaign, head coach Will Feldman unveiled.
The duo will be the first captains of the Rams' roster since Olivia Chilcott took on the job solo in 2021. Fogg and Triscik share the captain role and are the first twosome to do so since future Hall of Famers Emily Manfra and Emma Weisse held the job in back-to-back seasons, 2018-19.
"Sydney has been a tremendous asset to our program from day one," Feldman said. "Not only has she quickly developed into an all-conference performer, but she is universally loved by everyone on the team. Sydney works extremely hard, but also has an infections personality that keeps everyone feel upbeat and positive no matter the adversity we are facing. Coming off an injury that caused her to miss last track season Sydney is as motivated as ever to prove she's a top contender in the CCC for this year's title."
Feldman continued, "Jocelyn like Sydney is an incredibly hard worker who always brings a positive energy every day. Jocelyn has proven to be remarkably resilient as she's battled through injuries, and is one of the toughest athletes I've coached. She will always put the team first even if it's not in her own best interest. Behind the scenes Jocelyn is integral to everything our team does."
Fogg and Triscik are two of a dozen returning Rams that combined to capture the CCC Championship a year ago. The pair looks to lead Suffolk to back-to-back crowns this season and are set to get underway this Friday, Sept. 2 at the Short Course Classic at Franklin Park.
