Manfra Collects Third GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week Nod

BOSTON – Emily Manfra of the Suffolk women's cross country team grabbed her third weekly honor of the season as the freshman was tabbed the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

At the Saints Invitational at Franklin Park Friday, Oct. 14, the Stoneham, Massachusetts, local was just 22 seconds behind first-place finisher, New England College's Allison Granata, crossing the tape in 19:55 to claim second in a field of 167 runners.

The time is the best of her collegiate career thus far and second sub-20 5K this season. The award goes with two others from the conference as Manfra swept the weekly awards Sept. 26, and was named the best rookie over a seven day stretch Sept. 12.

Manfra and the Rams have this weekend off as they prepare for the GNAC Championships, set for Oct. 29 at Franklin Park. The women take the course at 1 p.m.
