BOSTON – Emily Manfra of the Suffolk women's cross country team raced her way to GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week accolades after her first colligate race the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Manfra paced Suffolk's seven-runner pack and led the Rams' to sixth place in the field of 14 at the UNE Invitational at Rotary Park. The Stoneham, Massachusetts, native was the first runner in blue-and-gold through the 5K's finisher's chute, taking eighth out of 135 races thanks to a time of 20:47.0.
The Rams and Manfra return to competition this Saturday as they compete at the Raiders Invitational in Nashua, New Hampshire.
