Women’s Cross Country Runs to Ninth at Pop Crowell Invitational

WENHAM, Mass. – Racing in its third event of 2015, the Suffolk women's cross country team placed ninth at the annual Pop Crowell Invitational on the campus of Gordon College.

Sophomore Michelle Kearney led the charge for the Rams with a 63rd-place finish in the 5k after crossing the line in 23:21.0. Junior Caitlyn Caramello was the second Suffolk finisher in the women's race, placing 69th overall in 23:41.0.

As the time struck exactly 25:00.0, senior Felicia Kalil crossed the tape to take 87th. Shannon Alessandroni was right on her teammate's toes as the freshman finished five seconds later for 90th. Freshman Audrey Kopich and sophomore Cassandra Johnson took 96th and 97th, respectively, to help the Rams take ninth overall out of 11 teams.

Alyssa Elliott and Rosie Collado rounded out the Rams contingent as the four-year veteran and rookie finished in 27:18.0 and 27:38.0, respectively.

The USJ Blue Jay Invitational, a four-team meet, is on the docket for Suffolk next Saturday, Oct. 3.
