Women Place 3rd at Eagles Invitational

Nashua, N.H. – The Suffolk University Men's Cross-Country team placed second in the Daniel Webster College Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Rams had three runners place in the top 10 finishers in the 5.62 mile race as Suffolk finished with 59 total points on the afternoon. The Women's Cross-Country team was equally as impressive placing third in the 3.1 mile race with 88 team points.

Freshman Erik Paine (Dartmouth, Mass.) placed second overall in the men's race finishing with a time of 35:44. Sophomore Justin Mark (Dartmouth, Mass.) and sophomore Matthew Bly (Boca Raton, Fla.) came  home at ninth and tenth place finishing just six seconds apart. Mark finished with a time of 38:32 while Bly was right behind him at 38:38. Freshman Allen Brooke (Wellesley Hills, Mass.) placed 18th in the race with a time of 42:04, while sophomore Davidson McGuffie (Mattapan, Mass.) rounded out the top five with a time of 44:48 placing 20th. Junior Corey Allen (Marietta, Ga.) also completed the race for Suffolk with a time of 47:21.

On the women's side, freshman Bridget Evangelista (Newburyport, Mass.) was the Rams' best runner placing eighth with a time of 24:28. Sophomore Emily Farr (Ithaca, N.Y.) placed tenth overall with a time of 25:28. Sophomore Bianca Bellot (Hudson, N.H.) finished with a time of 26:17 for a 13th place finish, while senior Cidney Carver (Cincinnati, Ohio) rounded out the top 25 with a time of 28:12. Sophomore Christina Webster (Wallingford, Conn.) also finished the race with a time of 32:34.

Both Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams will be back in action next Friday as they travel back to Nashua, N.H. for the Rivier College Invitational.
