Men 3rd, Women 4th In Rivier Meet

The rain didn't stop men's and women's cross country from getting out on the race course Friday at the Rivier College Invitational in Nashua, NH.

For the second time in two weeks freshman Rachel Perron (Garnder, MA) finished in second place with a time of 21:32. Perron, the GNAC Rookie of the Week for September 22, was once again outpaced by New Hampshire Tech's Heather Searles. Suffolk finished fourth overall with 89 team points, behind NHTI (84) and Lasell (54). Emerson won the event with 49 total team points. Junior Anna Birdsall (Wall, NJ) finished in eighth place overall with a time of 24:02, while freshman Megan Scully finished 19th at 24:56.

On the men's side, Suffolk had two top 10 finishers, but finished in third place in team points behind Daniel Webster who won the event with 35, and Emerson who finished second with 61. Junior Daniel Hassan (Marlboro, MA) finished in fifth place with a time of 30:40, while teammate Senior Matt Stas (Kingston, MA) finished in ninth place with a time of 31:09.
