Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Competes at Sean Collier Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Suffolk women's outdoor track & field participated at the Sean Collier Invitational over the weekend at MIT's the Henry G. Stein Brenner Track.  

REGIONAL RAMS

  • Three Rams earned their tickets to New Englands across the bridge in Amy Pattelena (1500), Sydney Fogg (1500) and Devyn Battistoni (pole vault).  

RAMS RECORDS

  • Two Rams rewrote their personal-best in Cambridge in Sofia Moukaddem (1500) and Emma Withers (hammer throw).  

RAMS RUNNERS

  • Catherine Madden (13.56) and Aida Bellal (13.88) sprinted the 100. 
  • Amanda Walden (59.76), Emily Concepcion (1:00.20) and Kayle Groom (1:03.15) all made one lap around the track in the 400. Walden and Concepion had top-10 finishes as they finished one after another in fifth and sixth, respectively. 
  • The foursome of Pattelena (2:21.20), Fogg (2:25.59), Allison Martin (2:40.02) and Maria Gallant (3:10.16) represented Suffolk in the 800. Pattelena produced a 10th-place performance and Fogg was five spots behind her teammate. 
  • Amalia Dorion ran the 1500 on the Friday and finished eighth in that field, that featured NCAA Division I competition, with a time of 4:36.12. 
  • In the 1500 on Saturday, Pattelena (4:46.27) and Fogg (4:46.97) took the second and third spots on the podium. Moukaddem (4:53.44) made her way into the top-10 in ninth. Shannon Groom (5:17.23) and Katarina Ferreira (6:52.94) were featured in the 47-runner field as well. 

HAVE TO KNOW 'BOUT THE HURDLERS

  • Madden and Averie Denelle (17.67) hurdled the 100. 
  • Jaenelle Bryant hurdled to 14th in the 400 with a time of 1:28.00. 

JUMPERS JIST

  • Denelle claimed fourth in the high jump as she cleared 1.58 meters.
  • Battistoni's 3.43-meter pole vault was good for eighth. 
  • Dootchina Dorielan (4.67) and Sasha Helfgott-Waters (4.05) competed in the long jump. 
  • Helfgott-Waters triple jumped 9.25 meters. 

THROWERS THOUGHTS

  • Divinety Johnson heaved the shot put 8.05 meters.
  • Sharaden Caldwell (28.96), Johnson (25.92), Bailee Mallett (23.53), and Lydia Comprosky (21.31) all threw the discus. 
  • Emma Withers (37.91), Caldwell (33.46), Mallett (31.66), Gracie O'Connell (29.89), Comprosky (26.62) and Johnson (25.85) participated in the hammer throw. 
  • Olivia Nicholson (29.47) and Withers (21.55) competed in the javelin.

Suffolk aims to claim the 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) Championship this weekend, April 25-26 at the Brigham Athletic Center on the campus of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.
