Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Sees two PRs at Jim Sheehan Invite

FITCHBURG, Mass. – A couple Rams from the Suffolk women's outdoor track & Field team produced personal records at Fitchburg State's Jim Sheehan Invite Saturday. 

RAMS RECORDS

  • Both records were reset in the long jump in Dootchina Dorielan (4.79) and Kara Sickle (4.19). 

JUMPER JIST

  • Dorielan's 4.79 personal-best in the long jump was good fifth. Sickle secured 13th with a 4.19-meter leap and Sasha Helfgott-Waters (3.40) was right behind her in 20th.
  • Helfgott-Waterss represented the Rams with a 10th-place performance in the triple jump with a 9.16-meter effort. 

RAMS RUNNERS

  • Aida Bellal ran the 100 (14.90) and 400 (1:16.19).
  • The trio of Allison Martin (2:41.19), Jaenelle Bryant (2:54.98) and Maria Gallant (3:14.35) made two laps around the track in the 800. Martin highlighted the group with a sixth-place showing.
  • Megan Dunn (5:32.86) and Gina Cappell (5:33.37) finished one after another in fifth and sixth, respectively. Katarina Ferreira (7:00.95), meanwhile, finished 15th. 

THROWERS THOGUGHTS

  • Divinety Johnson found her way on the podium in the discus as her 29.51-meter heave was good for third. Sharaden Caldwell was just off the podium in fourth with 28.55. Gracie O'Connell (23.37) and Lydia Comproksy (22.06) competed in the event as well.
  • In the hammer, Emma Withers (fourth – 35.63), Gracie O'Connell (seventh – 32.08), Gracie O'Connell (eighth – 32.0d3) and Caldwell (ninth – 31.84) all found spots in the top-10. Comprosky (22.42) and Johnson (22.42) were featured in the field as well.
  • Olivia Nicholson placed sixth in the javelin with a 29.54-meter effort. Witheres, meanwhile, tossed the Javel 23.18-meters, to take 17th.

Suffolk is set to take its talents to the Silfen Invitational next weekend, April 11-12.
