Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Claims 23rd at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – As one of the only NCAA Division III programs to compete at the 59th Annual Colonial Relays, Suffolk women's outdoor track & field turned in a 23rd-place performance over the weekend at Walter J. Sable Stadium at Cary Field. 

REGIONAL RAMS

  • Sofia Moukaddem secured her spot at New Englands in the 5000 by a time of 18:14.26. 

RAMS RECORDS

  • Hilma Ortega (100) and Amy Pattelena (1500) produced personal-best in their respective events.
  • The foursome of Moukaddem, Pattelena, Sydney Fogg and Amalia Dorion combined for a program-record in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 12:22.54.

RAMS RUNNERS

  • Dorion has the best showing of Suffolk's runners at the event as she finished 10th in the 1500th with a time of 4:35.28. The grad student, who sealed her spot at regionals last weekend, put together the 13th-best time in the event in NCAA Division III this season. Pattelena joined Dorion int eh 1500 and claimed 17th behind a time of 4:50.20.
  • Pattelena also raced the 800 and crossed the tape in 2:21.95, good for 20th.
  • Moukaddem secured 29th in the 5000 with a 18:14.26 showing. Sydney Fogg also competed in the event and took 35th with a time of 18:43.93.
  • Emily Concepcion made one lap around the track in the 400 in 1:00.56.
  • Amanda Walden and Ortega sprinted a half lap around the track. The former clocked a 26.22 and the latter put together a 28.07 showing.
  • Both Walden (12.72) and Ortega (13.22) dashed in the 100 as well. 

RAMS RELAYS

  • The group of Moukaddem, Pattelena, Fogg and Dorion combined forces for a program-record 12:22.54 in the DMR, good for third. 

HAVE OT KNOW 'BOUT THE HURDLERS

  • Catherine Madden sealed up 19th in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.55.
  • Ortega took 25th in the 100 hurdles with a 16.97 showing. 

JUMPERS JIST

  • Averiee Denelle secured 11th in the high jump as she cleared 1.56 meters.

Suffolk is set to take its talents to the Silfen Invitational next weekend, April 11-12.
