NEICAAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
NEICAAA sponsors collegiate championships in three events – cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field. These championships have produced NCAA champions, Olympic medalist and even Boston Marathon championships.
The first edition of the New England Track & Field Championships was held in 1887 and is currently the second oldest track and field meet organized in the United States – second to only the IC4A's Championship, which was started 11 years earlier.
QUALIFILYING QUALIFICATIONS
The top 32 athletes from a New England school across all three NCAA Divisions in each event, who have met the championships standards outlined here, are invited to compete.
SUFFOLK AT NEICAAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
This will be the first time in program history a Suffolk women's track athlete will compete at the NEICAAA Championships.
Caitlyn Filloramo was the first-ever Ram to participate in the meet as she represented the Rams in the hammer throw in 2022.
CONCEPCION CONNECTION
- Emily Concepcion has set and reset not only her own, but the Rams' record in the 400 throughout the season.
- Thanks to her performances in the one lap around the track, the junior raced to All-New England honors, a first in program history in the event, as well as CCC Champion in the event and All-CCC First-Team.
- The junior's PR in the event is 58.15, achieved last weekend at the New England Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
FOGG FACTS
- Sydney Fogg saved her best for last as the senior captain produced a personal-best of 4:45.87 in the 1500 at New Englands last weekend. That performance was good for 12th out of 20 opponents, however, she will be running the 800 at NEICAAA Championships Saturday.
- In the 800, she logged a PR of 2:21.87 at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships April 27 en route to a spot on the All-CCC Second-Team.
