Concepcion, Fogg Shine for Women’s Outdoor Track & Field at New England Championships

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Emily Concepcion and Sydney Fogg highlighted the Rams of the Suffolk women's outdoor track & field team at the New England Division III Championships over the weekend at Mt. Holyoke. Concepcion collected an All-New England honor and Fogg finished with a personal record.  

Concepcion clocked a personal-best 58.15 in the 400, good for sixth en route to All-New England honors, which is awarded to the top eight finishers in each event. The junior, who competed the one lap around the track at regionals for the second time in as many season and second time in her collegiate career is the first Ram to earn all-region since the 4x400 team of Concepcion, Alyssa Rodriguez, Amanda Walden and Jocelyn Triscik captured All-New England a year ago with an eighth-place performance. Concepcion is the first Suffolk student to individually pick up All-New England outdoors in the 400 and first since Emily Manfra (1500) and Emma Weisse (10k) received the distinction in 2020. Concepcion now holds two outdoor All-New England honors, the first Ram to do so since Manfra, who earned one in 2019 and 2020, respectively.  

Rodriguez joined Concepcion in the 29-runner 400 field. In her first-ever regional meet, Rodriguez recorded a 1:01.29 to capture 27th.  

Fogg, meanwhile, produced a PR in the 1500. The senior put together a 4:45.87 to seal up 12th out of 20 opponents. 

Amanda Walden became the first Suffolk student-athlete, male or female, to compete in multiple individual events at outdoor New England's as the senior was featured in the 100 and 200 fields, respectively. She closed a 12:85 in the 100 and a 26.29 in the 200.  

Sarah Roberts made her regional debut in the 10,000. The senior captain registered a 15th-place performance with a time of 39:58.08.  

Catherine Madden was the first-ever Ram, male or female, to participate in a hurdle event at outdoor New Englands. The junior finished 20th with a 16.52-showing.  

Devyn Battistoni and Kara Sickle made the Rams record book as well as the first pole vaulters to compete at outdoor regionals. Battlistoni took 13th in the field of 21 after clearing 3.38 meters. Sickle was three spots behind her teammate in 16th with a 3.08-meter effort. 

As a team, Suffolk finished in a share of 33rd with three points alongside Regis and St. Joseph (Maine) in the field of 36 programs. It is the second time in as many years and in program history that hte Rams took 33rd as a team at the New England D3 Outdoor Championships.  

Suffolk's student-athletes that qualified for the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships will continue their outdoor season next weekend, May 10-11.
