Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Trio Compete at New Englands

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Suffolk women's outdoor track & field sent its largest contingent of student-athletes to the NCAA Division III New England Championships over the weekend as three Rams competed across three events at Lee Track on the campus of Williams College.

Caitlyn Filloramo, the first-ever women's fielder to qualify for the meet and youngest Suffolk student-athlete to compete, making the regional run as a freshman, made more history as she garnered All-New England status from the New England DIII Cross Country and Track & Field Association in the hammer throw. The Southport, Connecticut, product logged a 47.51-meter heave to capture seventh in the 15-thrower field. The top eight performers at each event earn all-region honors.

A native of Guilderland, New York, Skyler Spanbauer made her regional debut in the 10k. The senior clocked a personal-best 39:15.36 to finished 13th in the 29-runner pack.

Amanda Walden also competed at New Englands for the first time in her collegiate career. The sophomore, who calls Foxboro, Massachusetts home, sprinted the 100 in 12.94 to take 16th.

It was Suffolk's first trip to New England's since 2019 and third overall in program history. As a team, the trio in blue-and-gold combined for a 32nd squad finish.

Next up for the Rams is the NEICAAA Championships next weekend. Suffolk awaits to see which student-athletes will compete at Jess Dow Field in New Haven, Connecticut May 13-14.
